DOES SIZE MATTER?
In a popular women’s magazine survey, about 77% of both men and women answered that size DOES matter. When asked which is more important, length or girth, 64% of women answered that GIRTH is more important. Average erect girth is about 5 inches in circumference.
Our recommended method of penis widening uses Belladerm® dermal-matrix grafts. Belladerm is human allograft skin which is minimally processed to remove the epidermal and dermal cells while preserving the extracellular matrix of the dermis. Belladerm® is a product of the Musculoskeletal Transplant Foundation (MTF) which runs the largest tissue bank in the United States. Since its inception in 1987, MTF has recovered tissue from over 90,000 donors and distributed more than 5 million grafts for transplantation. All procedures for donor screening, serologic and microbiologic testing meet or exceed current standards established by the American Association of Tissue Banks.
There are many advantages of using Belladerm over using the patient’s own skin. These include faster operating time, faster and less painful recovery, and the avoidance of scars at the donor site.
The Belladerm grafts are inserted through the same pubic incision that is used for penile lengthening. Thus, both lengthening and widening are often performed together. The Belladerm grafts are wrapped around the penis shaft underneath the skin and secured in place with sutures. Within about 6 weeks, there is tissue ingrowth that also attaches the grafts. Typical gains of 0.5 – 1.5 inches in circumference have been achieved depending on penis size and the number and thickness of the grafts used. Prior circumcision is required for best results.
